Happy Thursday, Friends!
Incredibly excited to share Kara and Justin’s Warren Dunes Engagement Session with you today!
In August I was humbled and honored to be allowed to visit Être Farms: a gorgeous new white wedding barn venue in St. Joseph, Michigan. Friends, let me tell you. THIS. VENUE. IS. INCREDIBLE! It is a bright, clean, and timeless dream. I truly don’t think there is anything like it in the Midwest. If you’re looking for a dream wedding venue, I highly recommend reaching out to the team at Être: you will not be disappointed!
Just before this visit is when I was first introduced to Kara and Justin.
Kara & Justin are going to be the VERY FIRST couple to ever hold their wedding at Être Farms, next May!
Justin first met Kara, a little over five years ago, at the restaurant he was managing at the time. As Justin explained, he couldn’t help but notice and felt that Kara was often looking at him while she was enjoying her time with her friends. He told me that he smiled back, and continued to go about his work day until he was approached by one of Kara’s friends, later that evening. Kara’s friend asked if he was single, and told Justin a little bit about Kara. Justin was excited. He explained to me that he thought Kara was “way out of his league,” but he put together a plan to get her attention. When Kara got up and walked away from the table, Justin “bumped” into her. His plan worked! After talking briefly he invited Kara out that night to one of the local after hours bar, where he explained they chatted (mostly about dogs) for nearly 2 hours! Kara LOVES dogs!
That was just the beginning.
Five years later Kara and Justin have two dogs, a handsome four year old son, and a lovely home.
Last year, when moving into their new home, Justin decided to organize a house warming party. He knew it was time and planned on proposing to Kara during the party. Since Kara absolutely loves dogs, Justin explained that he decided to hide the engagement ring inside a puppy crate and acted like he was gifting Kara with a new puppy for their home. Surrounded by family and friends Justin reached inside the crate, pulled out the ring, and asked Kara to marry him. She said YES!
We decided to hold their engagement session at Warren Dunes. Who knew Fall on the beach could be so pretty! We had an absolutely perfect day for their engagement session. The sun was shining, we had a perfect fall temperature, and Kara and Justin even sat down and enjoyed a beautiful charcuterie board and wine together. It was a perfect way to spend a fall day at the beach.
Kara and Justin – your love for one another is evident. From all of our interactions, I can tell that the two of you share a happy and loving life, together. I had so much fun photographing your engagement session! Thank You SO much with trusting me to photograph this season of your lives and your wedding experience. I hope you love your engagement photos, as much as I do, and I cannot wait to photograph your wedding at Être Farms next May!
